Do you want to lend me some time for I am always short of it The twentyfour hours that are mine they never seem to fit There's always more I want to do so I'm stealing from the night And then at morning's rising sun it is the sleep I have to fight Next week it's Christmas and Oh dear I've nothing ready yet The rooms and kitchen are a mess the bathroom leaks all wet I have to cut the little branches of the peartrees for the light We turn them into twinkling trees with little lamps shining bright Four young sheep are on vacation with a donkey stealing the show At gardencentre's X-mas stable where many folks come and go I have to collect them again next week and bring them to the flock Feed them hay, some other goodies and water around the clock We have to cut again the wood for the stove is burning like hell I have to buy a lot of candles for I really love them very well And then the decoration, Oh brother I still didn't buy the tree Wich will hang on our ceiling so for cats he will be save and free What will we be eating at Christmas should it be meat of my own fish See what I am up against so lending some time is my only wish I never know if the kids will be there for they have simply not decide wether to stay home or come to us, I can imagine for it's a long ride I hate the put on pressure much so I always let them free to choose So once in a while we'll see them here and sometimes we do loose And then I've still some days at work but I told them very clear: "From Friday on till January second you guys won't see me here" And so I ask you if you'll lend me some time till Friday at the least For if you don't then it's your faulth when I'm a wreck at Christmas' feast  A rose is a rose is a rose...I guess... Hey Kathleen nice seeing you, but I just told my bosses they wouldn't see me till New Year, not you lot. Leaving Passions for two weeks???  Nah won't do, I sure will get homesick. Titia, my goodness you have so much to do! I can gather the animals from the display for you while you start the feast... then I will feed and water them while you cook the beast! You know if I had time to lend I’d lend it just to you But it seems before I’ve got half done The day is nearly through I also borrow from my sleep To get what I want done Before I’ve hit the pillow Oops, there comes the sun So if you find a helper To lend to you some time Please send them over my way Ask if they’ll help with mine Isn't it true Titia, so much to do, and so little time to do it. However, I've no doubt that you will manage to get it all done somehow. If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |
