Lying in a bed of white I saw The smile of my weakened lover. A withering thought of passion Crossing my aching loins. Oh, never to touch Alone in my wanting I watched. His eyes pale and sallow But apparent his character of strength. Memories of bodies twisting together With spilled red wine metaphors. Time escaped our longing While our shuddering moments were spent. This man, this wonder, A rock in a sea of sand. Withering in pain Succumbing to mortality. Again I watched in agony As my mirror in life dwindled. Soul in an air balloon About to sail away. I wished to go. I longed to stay. Together the pearl and oyster, A mirage of eternal bliss, But soon to be a shell. Watching, wondering, So soon what should he see. The face of a savior Or a fading memory of me. Selfish in abandonment To think only of my fear. I yearned for comfort But nothing rhymed anymore. First his fingers let go Then his chest no longer rose My mind screamed out in panic Journeys begin again. |

This is so very, very sad....and I ache for the loss of this love.... I can only hope these are mere words, for the weight they bear is tremendous.... |

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh dear friend, this is so very heartaching, I pray with all my heart that this isn't based on a real-life experience, but if it is, my heart goes out to you! (sad sigh) My heart is always with those who have to face this sorrow of lost love! (big hugggssssss) So sad but well-written, dear friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

How very strong and sad. I hope that you did not experience this. It certainly does evoke a feeling of loss, and fear. Sandra |

Lady in White, catalinamoon, hypnosis and mistltoe angel-thankyou, but no it wasn't me. This was inspired by my grandfather's long bout with lymphoma and the love he shared with my step-grandmother who never left his side. She preserved many of the interesting stories of his life for us and I will treasure them always. I know she loved him very much. Nate-Thanks for the comments...I am still blown away by your man's world piece!!!! |
