Rhythm and Metres. How clever are they, cleverly taught they understands rhythm and metres Yet does the strength of word matter naught that jumps from stanzas to greet us. The clever scribe having a skill when scribbling long words of emotion Never does he serve another's will, he just writes of love and devotion. A poet will compose straight from the heart devoted to write as he pleases And when that poet a new poem he starts of flowers and warm summer breezes. The words skip fast, over the mind, then on paper whilst having the chances Scribe cares not if critiques are kind he does not think of Metres and Stanzas Is not the pen mighty as the sword? Remembering Rhythm and Metres Trying to impart, strength into word that jumps from Stanzas to greet us. Now we know it will not feel complete, and you may well spoil your chances If you do not use the right Metres or if you get wrong the damn Stanzas You will not get your Rhythm to Rhyme. No! you won't get Rhythm to Rhyme. ©Leslie de la Haye. 7/8/2000. Protect-rite registered ®™ Leslie de la Haye AKA Bald Eagle. |

(smiles) Such a wonderful poem, dearest friend, you always grace our hearts with your lovely words! (sigh) I love to rhyme, though I never focus on iambic pentameter or form, for I love to express my thoughts and dreams freely in verse! (big hugggssssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend, you are a delight to us all! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Leslie, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you!
