I awake, by flicker of candle light, my sleep-filled eyes unable to clearly see. With my first breath I cry out in the night "where is this place",... I find myself to be. I grow, by the flicker of candle light, burning softly ... touching, warming, I play. Feeding upon the shadows of the night, yearning, searching the stars to find my way. I live, by the flicker of candle light, sometimes captivated by its romance. Embodied within its eternal sight, blinding me of its dying circumstance. For this I must prepare, the coming dawn. In a flicker of candle light ... I'm gone. |

Oh, what an intense write. I hope you are not gone in the flickering of the candle. Sandra |

Candlelight can spark many emotion, for me it’s usually romance, you’re casting a different light with this sonnet, which I truly enjoyed. Bill |
