Song Never Heard

I have been a stranger to my own life
and more than half not alone but lonely
such an emptiness creeps inside of you
when you are who you are in name only

a screaming heart will not be heard
above the pounding of another’s free wings
and broken feathers of your own
swallows up the songs you could sing

there is a hollow type of ringing
that actions make lies out of words
and no matter what melody lives inside
it will forever be a song they never heard

"I have already paid for all my future sins."  Sade...(King of Sorrow)

Seems a sad song, have you tried changing the tune?  I like the poetry but I’m not sure I understood all you were putting into it. But the sadest part would be if no one was listening.

1slick_lady - yours words are very inspiring, and tell of sorrow, but the truth you write. How well I know these words...

there is a hollow type of ringing
that actions make lies out of words
and no matter what melody lives inside
it will forever be a song they never heard

You are a great and passionate poet...

(big hugggsssss) Oh Helen, this is sooooo heartwrenching but well-written, dearest friend! (sigh) Some songs may never be heard, but as long as you let your loving heart sing, your heart will be answered always by sweet love and comfort! (kiss on cheek) So sad, sweet friend, we all love you so very much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Helen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
