Once upon a famous meter Passions proclaimed poet leader Tried to silence his new rival with old words he used before Everyone backed up this ringer Though he let the young one linger “Hardly had to lift a finger” Our hero said with tones so sure, Tis’ a child and nothing more With pen in hand he started plotting Laughing - all the while jotting Down the words that he foresaw would surely send his foe to floor Finishing he quickly “poe”-sted Grabbed a glass and vict’ry toasted Surely Kevin’s rear was roasted Roasted from this latest score, Tis’ a child and nothing more Suddenly there came reprisal In a form ever so vile It seems that two could play the game that one was deemed so special for And with confidence still growing Kevin took some pride in knowing The hot air his foe was blowing Couldn’t push him out the door, though a child and nothing more And balladeer who thought it done with Found he couldn’t just have fun with His young adversary who was proven solid to the core Laughing Kevin screamed and shouted I am not easily ousted It feeds me, how you have doubted Doubted what I have in store, Just a child…but maybe more [This message has been edited by Kevin (edited 11-16-2001).] |

Kevin~ This credit paid is credit due ... I certainly give that to you ... You have apprenticed at the throne of the greatest poet I have known~ Called him out in grandest style while keeping pace ... all the while~ Hats off to you, poet sir ... 'Tis more than child I must concur~ I raise the chalice in salute ... TWO poets joust in absolute ... First-class poetry ... Now ... keep it up~ You've certainly earned the right to stand beside the master Balladeer on this very night~ *I believe this 'jousting' has been so well-done, bring out the 'best' of both of you~ Good show, gentlemen~ *HUGS* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |
