This is not about me although I too have felt this pain as I think many of us have. How I wish this world we live in was an easier place for hearts that only seek honesty and caring...my heart goes out to any who have experienced Lost Trust...

Lost Trust

It always comes unbidden
a cold wind filled with ice
freezing a heart that's open
with little secrets hidden

Games played again and again
to use the heart and abuse
confidence given in truth
is used to give hurt and pain

Words used to drive from the place
where safety was to be found
for a heart that was to love
all those of the human race

Now many lies and deceit
have been used to hide the truth
but the soul had not been blind
to the workings of this feat

There is hurt and loss of trust
of one who plays these mind games
with dark secrets that destroy
as the end comes from Lost Trust

Familiar terrain, Karen...  It's not easy to remain optimistic and idealistic in an environment of cyclical Trust-decimation.  Perhaps one of the greatest challenges:  to maintain one's faith in man...

Karen, lost trust never leaves a person. Oh, you can put it out of your mind most of the time, but it changes you inside. I'm glad this isn't about you now.  It's so sad. Once trust is broken, only a miracle can restore it and things are rarely nver be the same again.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Karen, I'm so happy this doesn't relate to you anymore! (sad sigh) This is soooooo heartbreaking, and my heart cries out to so many detached from each other and hearts broken in lost trust! (big hugggsssssss) We all love you so much, sweet star! (kiss on cheek) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Karen, this is very sad, indeed. I lost my trust when I was ver, very young. It is so hard for me to trust anyone. But, I do try.

This reminds me of a topic that I posted...
None of us is perfect...but to decieve to
gain affection or to lead someone down
a path of lies is cruel...very cruel...

We all want trust..and most of us want to
be trusted..

well written Karen...and I too am glad this
is not about yourself...for,  as your friend,
that would upset me greatly...

Well put Karen. I think we have all known people who have destroyed our trust in them. Hopefully though, it does not cause us to mistrust others who come into our lives afterwards.

Karen,
You give voice to issues few address but need to be spoken. I love your approach to life!

Karen, I echo Larry's thoughts here exactly.
You dare to write of those issues which bother us all and you do it in such a tender way. Good write. ~Hugs, Nancy~

Oh yes, Trust can be lost within an instant and take years to rebuild. I know what it's like to be betrayed, and it is the WORST feeling in the world. It's an unbearable pain when you put your heart in someone's hands and they smash their hands together and crush your heart. (Hugs)
