A State of Disarray

0 posted 2001-12-16 01:01 PM

You are the most elegant creature
I have seen in years
I begin to think of future
While I am filled with fears

It has been a long time
Since I have reached for love
For someone to be mine
To give myself that shove

But I find that I want you
To feel the texture of your skin
To be lost in eyes of blue
Why did these thoughts have to begin

So quietly I watch you
Aching, longing, needing
But, feeling guilty as I do
This is not in my breeding

I wish I were the girl I used to be
Who believed and reached
And wore her heart on her sleeve
But I feel like I'm beached

Now I look at my shoes
As you smile and walk by
I couldn't bear to lose
Can't survive another cry

So I break my own heart
You won't have to even try
It is becoming an art
And in time I will say good-bye.

Very sad. It's so true too that most of the hurt we experience in life is inflicted upon us by us. Great expression!

I can relate to this, but if we never take the risk, we never know if we can stop hurting ourselves for a change...nicely done!

(tears fall down my cheeks) So very heartwrenching these words are! (sad sigh) It saddens me to feel so many inflicting sorrow upon themselves and not having the hope to alleviate. (sad sigh) I pray that we can all find hope and faith in ourselves and believe in ourselves and find joy and comfort beyond the tears. (sigh) So sad but well-written, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I relate to this quite a lot! I don't consider myself (though others could) as an old woman. But I do have crushes! sigh...what would life be without them.

Well written, but if we never take the chance we will never know if we may be happy again.

They wouldn't be called crushes if they were easy to handle...that's so sad that you broke your own heart    I know its hard after your heart is broken to risk hurting it again but love is always a risk.
