My Son...

Born the 5th of June, a hot muggy day..
Cute, cuddly, reddish hair...fat cheeks..
Turn so red when you cried, cute but sad.
I had tears falling on you, I was smiling.

The diapers...always wet, or need to poop.
The pacifier...wanted it so bad...cried loud.

Your first steps....I wasn’t there to see it.
I was gone...doing my duty..I missed them.

The terrible two’s...more terrible three’s
The “Why”....always so inquisitive, so cute.
Hard to wean you off that “Pacie”.
The pull-ups...boy were they expensive..

Taking you riding in the boat...
You holding the wheel...that silky hair.
The wind making you squint...
The look on your face when you dropped my Net.
It sank out of sight...But I didn’t get mad..
How could I ever get mad at you then..
The look on your face when you caught your first fish.
Unforgetable.

Playing T-ball when you were 4....I won’t forget it.
Such a cute little guy in a uniform.
Taking you out and practicing baseball.
Hitting the ball to you...
You always thought I hit it a mile...still do..

Playing basketball...the hoop down low for you.
Letting you win...you wanted to so bad..
Calling you “Turkey” Turk-a-lurk.....
I still do that...You still like it.

Seeing which one is the strongest...
Arm Wrestling and letting you win again...
Seeing who could push the other...
Showing me your muscles...
Getting hair bumps under your arms the first time.
You saying “I’m a Man” as you look under your arms.

You are my little man....You are 11 now...
You are the most handsome little man I know.
Reddish brown hair, the cutest freckles..
The girls all love you....I love you...
How could I ever not love you.

I hope you read this to your son or daughter...
I hope you never forget that I love you.

I know I will never forget you...or this..
You both are a part of my being..

I love you my son...

So many are so unfortunate not to have a father like you, sir. I'm sure your son realizes how lucky he is..

So many fathers have problems saying I love you to their children. You are a giant of a man...

(big hugggssssss) Oh Barry, I cried reading this, for you have one of the most loving hearts I've ever known from a father and friend, and you have the love in a golden heart any boy could ever dream of having in his dad! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, I too hope he grows up and shares this love in your beautiful poem to his future family! (big hugggssssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend! (smiles) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

This is great! This is just about the sweetest father-to-son poem I have ever read.
It is a love poem treasure and pass on to each generation. Your heirloom poem.

*sigh* Your love for Timothy shines brightly in this magnificent poem, Magnus. Well done. The love of you and your dear wife, Lou, will ensure that your child will be given all the love they need to make their childhoods happy. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

I was trying to write a poem to my oldest boy Timothy a couple of weeks ago, for his birthday. I just couldn't do it. You did a great job for your son.
