I am alone there, here with you Beneath God’s heaven, skies so blue Where storms blow free on silent night And stars all shine their inky light. I am alone there, here with you As earth doth shake with nature true And storm and gales do mighty rage In deep snow trudged man of age. I am alone there here with you On this cold night of Steven true Into the snow so deep and white Gathering wood by moon’s cold light. I am alone there, here with you He trod this path like very few King told his page to hither go And help the poor man in the snow. I am alone there, here with y’all As page did heed his master’s call To gather wood as winter fuel Though the night was cold and cruel. I am alone there, here with thee Huddled close beneath great tree Man told the boy to stay in sight Step in his steps so firm yet slight. I am there, here with thee and King And now my heart doth truly sing For here at a table laid with food I thank dear God for being so good. Always there, here with my dear Lord! AMEN! |
