This is about a series of different views in our emotions. Pane 4 The safety glass that keeps our window from shattering Thundering words roaring along the horizon Quaking with the need to be put in someone’s mind So violent the passion that the pane shakes endlessly In the true pain of wild expressions Whirlwinds of emotions lift you And drop you so fast As to write in a second Of a thoughts so sweet That it surely must melt Through the windows cracks Lightning barks as you back away Only to come back and look again For our fear to be heard and felt In the storms that tear us apart But the weather dictates us to strike out In a lightning force That will electrify our audience And give them the static charge To raise their hairs Into the fuzz balls of thought That cling to them forever Still it out weighs the desire to hide and die For our window haunts us into frenzies Of raining expressions of titanic proportions To weather our window It has the safety net of Lexan Keeping it from shattering our dreams Into so many small pieces That the wind would surely blow them away But storms are some poet’s passions For it is here they come alive In the solar storms That can put halos of chills on their shoulder Or the horns of heat a little higher For at all temperatures they are real D.Lester Young (12/14/01) Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) |
