Sandra's poem "Tree Of Ice" reminded me of when I lived in Quebec and the ice storm we had. World of Crystal Beauty And the rains came on the warm, Jan., winter night as the skies released a burden of moisture too heavy now to hold Sometime in the deepest part of the night the winds changed, blowing now from the north bringing arctic bitterness As the world awoke that winter morn they found the world they knew was now transformed as they gaze about this cold sunny morn With a loud snap the power goes and I rushed outside to see to become transfixed as I walk out into a world of beautiful fantasy Living in the wood on the edge of a fast river adds wonder to all that these eyes do see Each limb of tree and trunk as well are encased in clearest crystal glass coating with each and every stone on the driveway sparkling and even the house is covered in ice in this fairy land of Crystal Beauty The sun shines bright in a clear blue sky reflecting colors everywhere the eye can see and casting rainbows in through limbs of each tree I gloried for two days and a half in this magical kingdom of ice created by natures force at work making a complete world of Crystal Beauty Karen TorbiakĀ© Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

I just commented on her poem of such an experience . I wish I could have put it in such lovely words as you have. Dan Death comes not when we cease to breathe, but when we cease to dream. [This message has been edited by The Rusty Knight (edited 12-11-2001).] |

Karen...I could feel the briskness of the chilled air...see the ice hanging from the limbs...You have described this beautifully. |

Crystal beauty indeed, I've been to Canada twice and it is a clean, gorgeous country, never visited it during the winter though. Kathleen (Kay) |

About seven or eight years ago, we had an ice storm that turned everything from grass to trees into a crystal wonderland. It was an amazing thing to see and experience. Thank you for reminding me of that wonder with your beautifully expressed words... *smiles* ~Tier |

Lovely poem with good imagery. I would love to see a land of pure ice. We are having such warm weather here in Florida. I'm having a hard time getting in the holiday season. Imagining a world of beauty in ice helps set the mood. If I could just see snow out my window! whaaaaaaa Deb |

Well, we inspire eachother, don't we Karen? This is a beauiful poem. I remember the bad ice storm here in NH a few years ago, and how beautiful it looked outside. Also that the power was out almost everywhere Sandra |

It sounds wonderful. Nature does beauty so much better than people do. Nan |
