The Shores of Alone

Branches of life in dormancy
suddenly transformed
into glowing thing of beauty.

Heavy,glistening frozen tears
adorned by magic
Natures most perfect Christmas tree.

(Inspired by Startimes' Magic Snow poems. This is one of the few winter sights that I find amazingly beautiful)

I must agree .... naturally beautiful.

Though I have seen some winter sights that amaze me almost as much ...

a man-made ice castle at the edge of a frozen lake

the trail of burning candles snaking their way down a ski slope in the dark of night

and the bite of frost as two people kiss under a cold winters moon

Life is fragile for all the important things

*sigh* I have to agree with you, Sandra, there is something so magically beautiful about such a sight at that. I love it and could clearly see the vision of it from your words. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Your poem reminded me of one of the most amazing days of my life.  We had an ice storm one night.  It is when it rains at near freezing and the rain freezes when it hits a tree or the ground.  I was in the woods before daylight.  Whe the sun came up it was like a wonderland.  The sunlight was broken up by the ice on the trees into a billion tiny rainbows. I could not move...I just sat down and watched knowing that this was a once in a life time experience.

Thanks for the reminder.

Yes, that is a beautiful sight isn't it? I remember the ice storms a few years back, and though I hated the destruction they caused, the scenery was beautiful.

Sounds beautiful Sandra...I was driving downtown last night checking out the decorations and they have several large trees that have either all red or all blue lights and it is beautiful...must be a million lights on one of those trees...James
