To the Power of One

To be seen as one
An individual
Unique in my own way,
But adding to the harmony of the whole.

To be loved as one
Apart from all others
Not for what I have done
But for who I am and what I will do

To live as one
In my own domain
Not a parasite on another
Or a host smothering anyone

To die as one
But missed by many
Leaving behind warm memories
To those I have touched and have touched me

Startime....Thank You I got a new digital camera and have really loved it.  I will miss the flowers and butterflies this winter. I seem to see the world differently now through this camera.

Marge...Thank you.  Your comments are always treasured.  Some poems seem to flow from the heart and this was one of them.

This poem touches a place that you could not have known.  I'm sitting here nearly spellbound.  In fact, I am...except for my fingers moving over the keyboard.  That's really all I can say right now, except that I long for the feeling in this poem.  Yes, I certainly long for it.

Dan, these lines of course are my favourite, as I believe we all wish to be remembered fondly, by ones we have touched.
Very well done!

Oh gosh that is great. When you mentioned the camera I thought of you capturing a snowflake somehow on film....How magical that would be...Or a field that is filled with new fallen snow...ah, sweet man, the visions you have just given me are amazing. **big hugs** I am sure you will find the magic of winter through this new eye that captures such beauty.

Noah...Thank You.  I have enjoyed reading your poems and I truly thank you for your warm comments.

Kay...Thank you,  I can really tell when a poem is right if I can bring a tear or make someone speachless.  It is always a bonus when I can make a red haired lass speachless. Dan

When I read this I couldn't help but realize that this is what all human beings want in this life.  It is so simplistic a need that I find it amazing we can become so lost.

I believe, sir Knight, you have isolated the true ache of all who inhabit our planet!!

True artistry!!

The photography was fantastic by the way!  This poem spoke of such longing of peace, and a sense of knowing it was to come.  It was truly an amazing poem, thanks Dan.
