a minor 7/4 woodwinds Flute--subject repeat subject continue Oboe --answer repeat answer continue Clarinet --theme, slow and lonely Bassoon--accompanies all of this as a helper brass Trumpet-tacet Horn in F harmonic, muted Trombone-tacet Tuba-tacet Harp-seventh chord arpeggios strings First Violin--divisi in octaves, flowing rising scale Second Violin-- divisi in octaves, flowing descending scale Viola--scale, falling in quarter notes now, again with the Cellos Cello --now, a third above Contrabass --arpeggios in key, eighth notes Double Bar--end of Movement II ------------------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
