The Woman In Red Who was that woman in red; Long thin neck And swept back head. She stood out like heck. She and her man dancing had gone. On the floor she gave him a night's delight. To the rest of us looking on She seemed such a fright. Dyed white platinum hair, Shaved way up high, With the top standing in air. Wrinkles she bore made me wonder why. Together they stayed; Dancing closely all night. He was tall and dark; She was thin and white. Short tight clothes of red Did she wear. That outfit needed very little thread. Too young for this woman of platinum hair. Who was that woman in red? We don't know. Even the singer had something to say As the woman in red swayed to and fro. Stares and comments you get when you look that way. What others might say or mention, She did not seem to care. To be the center of attention Was how she chose what to wear. Jo Mason 12/09/01 |

Red definitely is an attention-getter! Can't ya tell?! I much prefer to wear black clothes, it's sexy! |

And may she always choose red when her heart is bold. For sometimes, no other color will do. I like this poem very much, it has an honesty to it that is often hidden behind blank stares. |
