How quickly love comes and goes
often leaving before we are ready to let it go
Love is like a handful of sand
The tighter you try to hold it in your hand
the faster it escapes through your fingers
until it is no more

Our love is now all but gone
lost at sea
taken with the wind
I wonder whether a new love will come my way
on the incoming tide
or on the warm Summer's breeze
A love so magical that it will
warm my soul and fill my heart with love

Here I now sit
staring out through the rainsoaked window
reminiscing about my lost love
and remembering all the wonderful times spent here
So much love and passion once filled this place
but now it feels so empty like my heart

When the rains clear
and I catch sight of the rainbow
I will make a wish for a new love to come my way
I'll imagine walks along the beach hand in hand
long passionate kisses at sunset
and making love in front of the roaring fire
And I'll hear the words 'I love you'
ringing in my ears once more
