is the beginning like the end?
or, is it the other way around?
and, when we reach the end,
is it a new beginning?

or, are endings just put there
to mark the spaces of our lives?
double bars at the end
of the music before we turn the page
to begin the next movement?

I would think..the next movement..yes.
I LOVE the way you present your thoughts here, Sweet Sven Pen!

Very nice! I hope and pray the end is only the new beginning. As always I like the way you think.

This is not the end.
It is not even the beginning of the end.
But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

But is not the Prelude the beginning...?
Love the way you think Sven.....
And the way you make me think!!
Wonderful write!

Sometimes, we just don't know.  I think what we think is an end, can be a new beginning in disguise.  Just my opinion I guess.  Good write, Sven.

Ah... yes of course...!
We need a :confusion: smiley, don't we?

Sven, this is a nice short piece... quite deep.  Is it about reincarnation?  A repetitive process as opposed to a continuous re-creation into a new world?  I suppose it's all lost on me... non-spiritualist that I am...

But still, a rather deep poem.  You might have written it even longer, you know... added many more points of view or options to this almost unanswerable philosophy.

If you decide to do that, then good luck with it... and if not, don't sweat it.

quite nice. i agree with your sentiments expressed. and, for me, i choose to believe the ends mark the beginning of something new. i had to read this, for my dear favorite poet ever always wrote a poem called "prelude" to front each of his books of poetry. somehow he managed to embody the idea and feeling of his book of poems in his "prelude" poems. he also liked to write "l'envoi" poems as the final poem in his books. quite an interesting tactic. one i think i shall adopt when my time comes to publish.

thank you for this thought provoking read.

Sven,
thought provoking as usual. Is it the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning and if life comes full circle, how do we discern the end from the beginning.  ( Zen Philosophy 101)...That means I just made it up.

AD dearest heart, wonderful writing and such a thought provoking piece. Well, I believe that it's not in our destiny to know the answers to these great questions. Not until HE ordains it so. By which time it won't matter.

Truly outstanding work my friend

I think ends are beginnings in disguise. Only they are so very well disguised at times, it is hard to tell. Very good write.

thanks to all of you. . . yes, this is very thought provoking isn't it??

and, like a "prelude", it's not that long. . . just a short thought to get your brains going. . .

thanks again everyone. . .
