I was never fond of reality
Preferring personal made fantasy
Although never a place of perfection,
A land without a mirror’s reflection.

I have always been fond of solitude

There are dark hidden caves of the mind
Where if not looked for you will never find,
Many people are likely to be there
Never invading the fears we each share

There are those of us fond of solitude

Although in the city center I admit
In hiding became an urban hermit
Unconcerned with the things mankind will do,
Shrinking the world to a person or two.

Gloom

Well sometimes solitute is a welcome thing especially if one has a nice, fat cat to keep them company   - a wonderful "gloom sonnet" this was!

Professor, There may be cosmic loneliness, but solitude is selective.
I enjoy my solitude.
Good write.

(sigh) Oh Aszard, I too am a big dreamer, and wish I could dream forever and live in my fantasies, but I too believe that in finding pleasure in all the simplest pleasures of life, we can find solace and solitude in peace! (sigh) This is sooooooo emotionally captivating, dearest friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Aszard, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Thank you, Seymour,
Nothing at all, pleased you enjoyed

Thank you, Poet deVine,
And I thought I was writing about mine,
Perhaps solitude has a greater following than most believe
Glad you enjoyed.

Thank you, Sunshine,
I hope you can achieve it,
At least in the brief moments within the reading of my humble words

Thank you, Mysteria,
No fat cats here, but cats are too independent to disturb
Solitude.

Thank you, serenity,
I like a pleasant mix,
A little real, a little fantasy
So that neither is lost within the other.
Go? And where would I go
But to retreat into my own mind?

Thank you, Startime,
Fantasy is what you make it,
Reality depends too heavily on others,

Thank you, Enchantress,
Glad you liked, could there be a cosmic fantasy?

Thank you, Noah,
It’s always nice to see your soft and sweet responses,
Solitude is different than peace,
But I hope you can find both.

I know exactly what you mean by shrinking the world. I am very fond of my tranquil solitude. It gives us time to expand our minds for more than just the ordinary. I think it enriches our devotion to the ones we hold dear to us. Great verse!
