(From Open 10) October wind is blowing Scattering leaves upon the ground. On this quiet day Their rustling is the only sound. Night-chilled air is warming A new day has just begun And the morning sky is lighting With the rising of the sun. Crystal tears are flowing down Like dewdrops of the morn But hardly they provide relief From sadness, newly borne. Crying out, a heavy heart And torn and broken soul Are realizing now that they No longer can be whole. Tear-filled eyes gaze 'cross the land And watch the sun arise. Today, a soul went home to God And dwells within the skies. No longer on this mortal earth He looks down from above To watch over his family And guide them with his love. In Memoriam Flumenis 10-31-00 "You are the one who reaches through the dark When I'm afraid you warm the air And when I close my eyes to sleep, You are my peace, you are my prayer...." --from "You Are My Home" by Nan Knighton, featured in the Broadway musical The Scarlet Pimpernel God bless America, my home sweet home. |

Beauty can still live even in the darkest of times. Even though he has left this world, he has gone on to a better place where he can smile down from the skies and warm his family with his legacy of love. ~What is cherished most is what must be the hardest fought for.~ |
