“BROKEN DAYS”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
Sometimes I hear the stillness
of the lake under the gentle
Weeping Willow, and wonder
about the broken days that
came into my life…
I close my eyes, yet see
the many pleasant days that
once were, but have now
forever disappeared from
my spirit…
They were once filled with
laugher, but are now broken,
only memories in my mind,
and in the depths of a heart
that once was giving,
but is now not…
So I listen to the stillness of
the lake, under the gentle
Weeping Willow that
caresses my soul
protecting me from harm,
when those memories
become hurtful thoughts of
too many, broken days…
*sigh* I am so glad that you have the caress of the weeping willow to help you through those broken days. I hope soon you will have the loving arms of a woman to heal the wounds from your broken days. **hugs**
Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
This was bittersweet prose if I ever read it. Brilliant imagery and a good read. Thank you for giving me an inkling of ideas...my character has been sitting in the dark, his whimsical thought ehoing through the blackness. Now he has found a light to his shadow!
rest awhile Bill, sometimes love isn't all it's cracked up to be and a rest from it, makes you see things more clearly...here's hoping you and I both see better days ahead. Hugsssss...catch me on here this evening if you can, I will be here if you need someone to talk to, I've cleared my schedule.
(big hugggsssssss) Oh Bill, my heart goes out to you, this is so very sad! (sad sigh) All my childhood are broken days now, and I haven't gotten to live any joy as a boy, and I always cry alone to myself if I can have a very happy life ahead. (sigh) My heart is with you, and I pray with all my heart love will be with you always now and fill you with happiness and love you deserve so very much! (big hugggsssss) We all love you, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Bill, thank you for sharing!
May love and light always shine upon you!
Love,
Noah Eaton
yes. . . you reach a point where there have just been too many of these. . . and, you wonder why they broke in the first place. . . and, if you could have kept them together. . .
you know my thoughts BC. . . keep putting them down on paper. . .
I have felt your pain Bill.  I have known what it is to be there.  However things changed and now I am a happy person, I hope things look up for you.
Thank God for that shield of protection because we can really be harmful to ourselves. I love this poem, made me reflect on bad days I have.(it's part of our human condition)Thanks for sharing.
Always a soft, romatic pen at your fingertips. All we can do is sigh.
Well done, my friend
I remember a dancing gypsy king poem that shows a very different side to you!!
I hope this isn't how you are feeling, right now.  I will say that some of the best emotion I have ever seen in poetry stems from the pain we feel as human beings.
You have captured the essence of that in this piece!!  Beautiful, moving work.
amusemi - a'hhhh, you bring back sweet memories of the dancing gyspy king, and I thank you for it.
I have to admit thought, that at times these written words are my feelings at the time. But they will pass, as they always will... And the best does come, out of the pain...
Thank you again for your words.
