cigar store
in Portland,
zigzag man is the guard,

60's looking face,
tie dye shirt,
funny smoke in the back,

(hell no I won't say
where it is
the pot swat guy will bust it sure)

but hendrix is still alive
and janis too,
jerry and the dead,

and the door jim...
even some old cowboys
with red eyes

can be seen
if you squint tight,
and don't stare

at the lava lamp over the door....

long ago? Naw...seems like yesterday to me! OH...it was yesterday!

The more things change, the more they stay the same?

Indeed, perhaps three times is the charm!

OWG - Our moderators work very hard to keep the ambience of these forums comfortable for all.  They rarely take 'coffee breaks' - As a matter of fact, Passions frequently BECOMES their coffee break.

I'm requesting that you review our guidelines and carefully consider which of your work is appropriate for Open and which is more appropriate for Adult.  This will save our team a lot of time and energy in perusing each of your posts for its proper place.

I'm sure you'd be happy to make their jobs a bit easier for them, wouldn't you?

Thank you in advance for your consideration and your support on this point, OWG...

Nan....no problem...the coffee break thing was meant as humorous..

I look at real life as real life..and maybe most of it is too much for a younger audience..even though they see it as clearly as we do.

I will try to fit into the right grooves, so I don't get anymore public spankings..

again humor is included

finally, a poem of yours that hadn't been moved to adult    I'm kidding.  Welcome to Passions.  You speak of an era I lived through, at least I believe I survived it.

Thanx Ms Rose...I survived so far...still riding faster than the ghosts I guess..hopefully the black *itch will keep draggin my mug through the wind a few more years.

Yes this one stuck to the board...but I did get a spankin' out of the others and I will do most anything for a spankin'. (grin)

BTW...glad you survived....some cool writing is a result of it.

the beat
of more is in
drummed out
shouts, enraged,
staged by doors
opening, while
smoke and mirrors
hit the truth hard
with the punch of
lines alive!

no dead here!
grateful for the clear sound
of riffs and feedback,
tracks blasted in
a sweet scent,

lava rising
from mountains,
exploding like fountains,
while ears here
hear!

...........

nice work laden with imagery!  dynamic writing!! thank you for this......!!
