Tempting Fate They say, “There goes a cowboy.” Each time I pass their way. “I heard he was a good one- Back in his younger days. But now he’s gotten older, He’s putting on some weight. And every head of stock he draws… He knows he’s tempting fate.” “You’re tempting fate,” they tell me- “Each time you try to ride. A lot of younger, better men, Than you have tried and died. Each time you drop your riggin’ On the back of some rank bull… And take your seat, you’re tempting fate- Each time your rope is pulled.” I cannot quit, I guess that I’m… Too full of Texas pride. And so I’ll go on tempting fate, Each time I nod, “Outside!” Each time I stand astride the chute- To ride a ton of hate- I guess it’s true, I know it, too- I guess I’m tempting fate. |

WOW!!!You write with the heart of a true cowboy, my friend. This poem is absolutely magnificent. I love it. *sigh* I hope you aren't tempting fate for real. **hugs** Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

Wow... very interesting write here! Cool cowboys I've yet to met one up close, but I've seen some in movies... And if what they do in movies is the same as what you do in real life... then I guess, yupz, you're tempting fate whether you're young or old... *giggles* _,,,^.^,,,_ |
