If I could dance the tango, and you could play the violin; if I could sing like Caruso, and you could bring the gin; if on some nice soft sofa we could snuggle up together like newly found long-lost kin to discuss the widespread need for much more original sin - if we could then sit up awhile to share an apple or a fresh-peeled pear, and wash it down, perhaps, with a glass of vin ordinaire; if we could then wish together that good ol' Charlie Shultz would still be there to make his sweet-tempered Lucy and poor ol' Charlie Brown prepare to kick at a football that we know will never ever be there. If we could do these things, my friend, my love, before the trumpets blow, or pigs sprout wings, I'd count the nights, the days, well spent, the hours fine, and would not repent these busily idle hours used to banish our despair, for I would gladly dance the tango as you play the violin, and we could be content, I think, even with just old-fashioned sin!
