Storms Reflection

The sky is black as ink,
heavy laden
with power
waiting to be released

Lightning streaks across the darkness
leaving a trail of brilliance
that cannot be captured
by word or paint

Thunder rolls gaining in power
with sounds that vibrate off the soul
as we await the full fury of the storm

Again lightning leaves its jagged
mark across the sky
to reveal the forms
of a man and woman
standing protected from the storm

The woman’s eyes flash
with passion
as they reflect the brilliance
of the lightning flash

Shadow and light
are reflected off this pair
as they approach almost
touching as another power
prepares for release

The woman’s form
reflects the lightning
as she blends her spirit
with it to face the power
of thunder
reflected in this man

The passion of the storm
courses through them
as they embrace
and give themselves up
to the power of the storm
flashing and pounding around them

Lightning and thunder matched
in the perfect pairing
of man and woman
made one

As the storm reaches it’s height
so too do these two
reach the pinnacle
of passion born of love eternal

Softly, gently
the world around them
returns to quiet
serenity as they
too return to earth

Wrapped safely
in each other’s arms
their bodies aglow
with a love that
is reflected in the skies
as brilliant color
breaks through
to paint the skies

Holy jumping lightning bolts!  Look at him!  Well you can't write a serious lightning poem without that little "drip" coming out of the shadows, LOL   I am just kidding of course.  This was great Karen.

I am leaving to check out the weather channel and find out when the next storm is....This poem will put visions in my head now every time it thunders *S*

You got all the emotions to thunder at the right time in the words of a true artist.
