From the depth of illusion A butterscotch sky Brought me confusion Though I didn't know why A sky coloured toffee Bring tears to my eye Reminding of coffee And days long gone by So golden, so yellow Too sunshine in hue Does not make me mellow As it ought to do Rich as the morning So sticky and warm With hint of new dawning In butterscotch form I should be entranced But the memory flies by I'm not romanced By a butterscotch sky Its warmth and its wonder Could brighten my day But I sense the thunder Behind butterscotch way Reminiscing…I cry Some one must now pay Turn this butterscotch sky To a cold, drab, grey, day Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. (big hugggssssss) Oh Lynne, I cried reading this, it feels you feel so sad deep inside. Is there something wrong? If there is, we are always here for you, for we are all happy to help. (sad sigh) This is so sad but beautiful, sweet friend, I always love your words! (kiss on cheek) This challenge is wonderful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lynne, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

Keth darling sster of my heart, will you stop capping every poem you write with another better one. Mmmmmmm Butterschotch Sky, you really are a terrific writer. and will you stop winning now? I love the way this one moves too, and no I don't always say that. Uttery utterly fabulous, and if you think I'm going to write another one you are sadly mistaken, all I can think of is the Big Rock Candy Mountain, or that song in Doctor Dolitle sung by Anthony Newley, My Friend The Doctor and for some very odd reason the sight of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang keeps intruding. Ahhhhhhhh it's the child catcher, who incidentally used to scare my children to death. That scene where he appears with lolly pops and offering goodies. See how my mind jumps about. Isn't it good there's plenty of space to do it. Love and warm stuff as always Slushy To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace St John ch2 v1 |

A poem well done! Wish it didn't have a gloomy ending though. I was journying on the beautiful path of your poem and I crashed and died. Another stanza expressing hope for a different, more pleasant outcome, perchance? I like happy endings, I guess. Joe |

Noah, thanks. I am not sad it was simply a blue muse. Have you ever seen a sky so beautiful it makes your heart ache...well this was a reflection of that. Marsha, I'm sorry love...I wasn't thinking. Seymour, I'm glad you like my poem and I'm glad I like butterscotch....although it seems to be a warped color for a sky. Charisma, I missed you too. Just thought I'd stop by to play awhile...I didn't know I'd get caught in a whirlpool of challenges. *HuGS* Darling girl! Thanks for the awesome. Lady, your kind words bring a butterscotch glow to my face. Thank you peaches, Sweetness is as sweetness does it seems. Thank you for being sweet. Sudhir, I have missed you my friend, when I return to the bosom of my family it is much sweeter that they are there to greet me and remember who I am. Thanks Joe, thanks. Here's a new ending just for you. Reminiscing I cry this butterscotch hue takes me out of my sigh and lifts me from blue. Titia, Thank you, and for you a new ending also, one you may prefer. This butterscotch sky surrounds me and then I'm lifted up high with the things I can't ken (understand) but butterscotch sky so high up above can cease all my sighs and fill me with love Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. WOW! I almost missed this one! You did fantastic here, Keth! Let's see now...if you saw a butterscotch sky on Sunday, would it be a butterscotch Sunday? Intriguing thought.... |

Startime, for you a happy ending. this butterscotch dream so rich and so warm is scooped up like cream and sorrow's begone SmartChick, Yep I make the best Grannies butterscotch this side of the black stump...that's maybe because I use real butter and real... Enchantress, there's something rich and dreamy about even the word isn't there. Marge, I have not seen a butterstoch sky...well I have! but over here they are called delusions and they lock you up for talking about them. Deer, that'll be enough parlour talk from you thank you very much! Keth Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |
