I believed in Santa Claus In fairies and Peter Pan I thought Wiley Coyote was cool And Mighty Mouse was da man! I saw magic in a snowflake In dandelions and fireflies My heroes were my teachers Ever scholarly and wise I walked along the dusty lane Kicking dirt clods without a care And now that I am older I wish I could go back there. Yesterday was a time of hope For a future that would be bright It was a time to dream of love In darkness of a summer night Today is not what I dreamed it to be I feel cheated by life somehow If I could go back to yesterday Could I change my here and now? |

(sigh) I know just how you feel; I too miss those days of living surrounded by fantasy and being the center of fairytales, though otherwise I wouldn't change a thing! (sigh) Such a wonderful bittersweet expression! (kiss on cheek) I love you, sweet friend! You have suhc a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

Probably, Sharon, but you'd probably lose all the good things that came along with the bad and then you'd just have a whole new bag of good and bad to deal with. Cool poem! |

Ah, but it’s never too late to dream, to change the course of our tomorrows. Wonderful yesterdays you speak of, may there be wonderful tomorrows too. If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

I'm not ever going to grow up! I still believe in Santa, magic (of course) and I have fairies at the bottom of my garden! Yup!! Come look! Found out a long time ago...it's never too late to have a happy childhood. Now I just want to stay here forever! Great write, hugs, Nancy. "A dream is a wish your heart makes..." |

Good one, Sharon. Sometimes I wish I could go back too, but then if I did I wouldn't be the person I am today. Whoever that is! Sorry for the ramble. All writing comes |

like the poem, wonderful nostalgia, but please don't stop dreaming and hoping, believing...perhaps it's time to believe in a true superMan and to let Him enhance your dreams I'm trying hard to let Him have my dreams, I am, it is hard to let go, though. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

You know I read this and hoped not too many felt this way, for I still like to believe in all of those things! It is in that belief I stay young, happy, and of course on the same plain as kids and elders which is where I spend a great deal of my time. To go back to those years, if even in one's mind will in the very least get a smile! Going back unfortunatley never changes destiny, but what you do here and now is the main thing that counts. Can you tell I liked this poem and it really made me think? Well I loved it, but truly do feel sad for anyone who has lost the magic of being a child - it is simply wonderful and I am never giving it up~ LOL ~*~ Carpe' Diem ~*~ [This message has been edited by Mysteria (edited 12-04-2001).] |

I wouldn't go to my past for anything...my hopes and dreams are all in the future. I will stay a child and believe in fantasy because that is the heart and soul of who I am. My heart goes out to you that you feel this way. **big hugs** Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

PDV, To hear your lament saddens me, yet from this decay may yet rise the hope of a new generation, we have only to find the words. Doc |

I really love this poem - it sure struck something inside of me...I too long for yesterday when hope lived, I have also stopped believing in many things - especially love, and I'm only 22. But, I do believe in wonder woman - she wrote this poem Take care, Sharon! Melissa~ "Poetry is not an opinion expressed... |

PDV, this poem really hits the inner core of a soul and your expression here touched my heart more than you'll ever know... Indeed the 'innocent child' in us does exist it just so happens that sometimes it gets buried in a whole lot of hogwash and we loose sight of it at times.... As for seeing the magic in snowflakes and dandelions dancing on their stems in mid-air and fireflies scrolling secret messages across the midnight sky these images are still alive and gosh I can relate2wanting2go back2that path of yesterday... I appreciated very much reading your poem and compliment you on great writing PoetFriend... *~coco~* |

Did I ever tell you my real name? psssst.. . . . . .I'm Batman . . . . There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar. |
