Rain Monster December 1, 2001 Copyright 2001 Doug Pretorius Sheets and buckets fall from the sky with cats and dogs lamented cries Grey clouds descending all around torrential downpours everywhere abound Raging down the streets soaking everyone’s feet Filling ditches and trenches to burst quenching some primeval animal thirst Flooding banks drenching trees filling the air with a watery breeze running downhill to find the sea diverted drink for you and me Now harness the beast and make it bend put to our uses and to make amends for all the misery it might have caused is nothing when faced with man’s greedy paws |

Aha, the real rain monster's disguise has been washed away. Very well written, Doug. I enjoyed this immensely. |
