Muse of Poetry

Oh sing oh Muse of Poetry
Oh sing, Oh sing
So clear to me
My hand and heart
So true to thee
So do I stand
To serve thee

Oh Muse so deft
At rhyme and wit
Oh hold my hand
Until I’ve writ
An ode to Thee
I can acclaim
Is mine, is yours
Is Poetry

Stand now beside
And sing your song
I’ll hear your voice
And before long
I’ll sing your praise
Of unseen worlds
Which only we
With minds attuned
Can witness and attest

Hear ye all there
Who would agree
That some such search
Of mind’s embrace
Of wishful thought
And solemn vow
Could raise the voice
Of here and now

What thou wouldst speak
I now await
Both joyful and serene
I feel the rush
Of energy
Of verse beneath my pate
I would that I
Could harness it
Thy tale I would relate

I’m waiting……….

Hi Joe...The muse..such a thing is made of gossamer...and floats around poetic vision...refusing at times to land. Enjoyed reading your poem, my friend. Hugs!
