~*~ To be your sunflower ~*~
How I wish I’d be The sunflower that you want me to be
But I am sir… Not one given in adoration to the sun Spend my life, my breath Watching it But having none None but its ray And not the heart of it coming my way
I’d be your sunflower With that yellow Daring hue But would that guarantee My having The heart of you?
Why should I spend my days My breath All for your rays of light And then Shiver All alone at night As you are out of sight
Tell me sir… Why should I direct my whole being Towards this sun of you Taking its golden perfect hue Why would I open up? My whole heart Big and shining So clear and bright Easily exposed to your sight?
I would gladly let it bask In your light But Knowing the sun With all its magic bright Soon that heart Would burn from its all too not careful light
Oh…my sun Showering me with light Giving me Only a passing delight
I’d gladly spend my life in adoration of the sun A nun In an alter so bright Lost to the whole world But to that light If... If it only would be a tender light Keeping me forever Basked in its ray Giving me all that I’ve dreamt to have one day
So… Yes…sir I’d love to be your sunflower If I’d only have in your heart My own magical tower Unmatched by any other Forever tenderly cuddled in your power And never Never kept away from your golden shower And if night came my way You’d trace it away by day And draw a hundred smile on my face And more And never allow your light to burn me Like before Only then I’d be your magical sunflower… And I’d forever bask in your golden shower deriving from it all my power and giving you happiness unmatched by any other.
That is an amazing poem. The graphics match so well, but even if there were no graphics, I would see those big yellow sunflowers. And the sadness of not being the main flower of someone's heart is so well written here. You deserve your day in brilliant sunshine, and to be the #1 flower. Well done, poetess.

My Melody: a flower should open herself only of her own volition, for as you have pondered, sunshine comes and goes... It is the roots of self that remain constant and allow the flower the wisdom to grow and blossom into the beautiful potential dormant within. The sun certainly may inspire, but a flower can still bloom even on overcast days. A world without comes from a world within... (I enjoy your multi-media approach to writing -- it's a fresh bouquet to behold, each time).
