She Laughed Out Loud |

She laughed out loud, like tiny invisible fingers were working her ribs. The giggle was infectious, making me smile and then guffaw right along with her. Our humor lost on the strangers on the street, their funnybones buried deep within. I love to laugh like that, your chest filling with air and then exploding into sound until every bit of breath has left you and you are clutching your stomach and moaning. And yet, the laughter continues, until you calm down and then completely by accident your eyes meet and you begin again. Remember me with a smile on your face, or please don't remember me at all. |

Oh, Lucie, you have captured the essence of spontaneous, belly-driven laughter. |
