I want my shadow to set me free. But maybe that cannot be. My conscience follows too closely, it makes me want to run. For I am guilty of ignoring your pain, too focussed sometimes on my own gain. And now my shadow chases me out into the pouring rain. |

Thank you so much, Kit, for reading and for being here so passionately for the rest of us. You definitely don't have to run from your shadow. |

yes, running from anything is virtually impossible, because in the long run you must face shadows and light. Thank you. |

Lady, thanks. It's true, we cannot run and hide, for the shadows stay close by. Seymour, you really do see more. Thanks for reading. |

LOL at your reply, Duncan. Winter is being capricious here... playing some kind of hide and go peek game, now it's winter, now it's not. It snowed last weekend, poured rain today. But dreary? LOL. I dare you to come and watch the aurora at -40F and the sled dog races in late winter. Now the city...that can be dreary. Thanks for reading. |

Midnitesun, You know, my recollection of Seattle is there ain't much shadow in the rain. I really liked the concept of this poem. A little brain teaser. Nice job. |
