The entry hallway was just as the night, Giving nothing but dark in which to sight, Barren walls and featureless wooden doors, Two steps across on the carpetless floor. Between both stepping in or stepping out. Pausing in thought in dark security, Which side of which door was reality, Here a step from either entry or exit, Outer noise blends with the inner quiet. Between both stepping in or stepping out. Opening the outer door lets in light, Blinking in response even though it’s night, Assaulted by myriad of diverse smells, Through the between and out of double shells. Gloom |

Thank you, Nakdthoughts, No, not my footfalls, I checked my steps and none fell there. Pleased you liked my words. Thank you, Zinsser, Reality has always interested me, Glad my words had your interest for a moment. Thank you, doreen, It takes not much to rhyme, Just happens to happen sometimes, You know when that flow in your mind, Somehow just aligns. Thank you for taking the time to read And comment. Gloom |
