Window magic Late at night Drowsy dreams sift in On cooler breezes Falling like a thin mist Of dark chocolate Tempting Old Man Winter To pour on the sugar Pure in due time Sheers of tingles On the scent of crisper air The moon light cascading Across a quiet slumber With fewer and fewer Night creatures singing Their lullaby With the last one standing, ovations Before the curtain call Full the white globe hangs Of summer lover's heavy meet Contented it shines in dimmed reflection Of snuggled spoons sweet retire I hear the drip...drip Of my rose petals In the last sigh of life As they graciously shed their color Unto nature's palette Contributing to the canvas In the swirls of the masterpiece To be painted overnight Soon my world will know only white |

yes.... again you paint with more than colors..you paint the emotions as well, setting scenes of suggestion for the reader to fill in detail, yet enough detail provided to draw them to a picture similar to your own.... It is the winding down, the end of season felt by all and noted with great grace in your words.... |

Regina~ Another breathtaking write! And this one's got such a magical feel to it. I'd like to ditto everything Cpat said because I agree completely but don't have the eloquency (is that even a word?) to express it so well! Oh and I love the spoon line as well, my sweetie and I are always talking about being spoons while we sleep Loved it! Hugs, ~Krista Your beautiful words & creativity allow me to connect with the same in myself. |

Full the white globe hangs Of summer lover's heavy meet Contented it shines in dimmed reflection Of snuggled spoons sweet retire Softly breathtaking...even the construct of this piece dazzles like glistening snow. You've quite a talent my friend! |

I hear the drip...drip Of my rose petals In the last sigh of life As they graciously shed their color Unto nature's palette Contributing to the canvas In the swirls of the masterpiece To be painted overnight Soon my world will know only white I can't seem to decide whether I am loking forward to winter or not. This makes me think, maybe yes. Beautiful! |

And more lovely thoughts spill from your pen Regina. I don't like winter myself, but like Duncan said, you almost make me look forward to it here. If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

This one reminds me of an "old-fashioned" Christmas card that has the raised white sand and glitter to accentuate the details of a countryside painting -- like the snow surrounding the road which leads up to a log house in the distance, whose lit fireplace can be seen through its window and can almost be smelt from the waifts of chimney smoke subtly painted in... Even though this poem is just before such an image, such is the impression it cajoled for me. In other words: very vivid view. -MVS "Learn to let go of fear, doubt, and disbelief..." --THE MATRIX |
