October's Boon There are reasons, I do not jest, why I like October best… for chill winds chase clouds away, moon and stars seem here to stay. Glowing brightly, in full glory hangs the moon, and it’s surely bringing with it moonlight’s charms staving away werewolf’s harm. October leaves crackle beneath, and like the dagger to a sheath my coat is wrapped around my arms, the lone wolf’s howl brings no alarm. Moonlight brightly hanging nightly under which the crops find harvest, moonlight shimmers, growing dimmer sunlight becomes Octoberfest. Through day's light I shall ponder as through leaves I will wander ‘till finding again sweet night’s moon known to me as October’s boon. 28 October, 1999 ©KRJ |

Karilea~ This is lovely~ I'll buy it all except the 'chill winds' ... you can have mine~ I'm sitting here with my warm slippers on and my big snuggly robe wrapped tightly. MIGHT even pop the heater on ... But ... I do revel in the evening glow of that gorgeous moon~ *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

*sigh* An October moon is one of the most beautiful. I love what you have done here in the spirit of October. I wonder what it is about this month. This was absolutely exsquisite writing! Sometimes the heart needs the solace of solitude and silence. |

October is my favorite month, also. The air is lighter and if we're lucky, not too cool, too soon. It's the best time of year to sit outside by a fire and just quietly absorb everything your senses are ussually too busy to notice. Really enjoyed this! |
