Iambe laughed at my dance

I smiled at her,
Nodded my head
And stopped dancing

She walked towards me
Still a question in her eyes
so I bent down,
Picked up my beer
And watched her hips sway
Under the overalls

Bob pulled in about then
his old Dodge backfiring
when he turned the key.

Iambe turned to face him,
I walked to my truck,
Slid behind the wheel and turned the key.

She fired on the second turn.

As I eased out of the drive
I didn't look back,
I was thinking about home
And knew if she wanted to be there
She would show up

If she didn't
I knew I did.

Memories of a night with cactus
And my own demons came to mind
as I thought about how being lost
Was just a state of mind

I was no longer lost in myself
But I was still lost in Iambe

I wonder if she will follow her senses, or if she will take a quarter from her overalls and flip it....

decisions, decisions....

Each one is getting better and better.  I keep telling myself to save them for when I get home tonight...but I have no self control.  I think I may be getting lost in her, too.

I almost missed this one...went out to my garden when he was dancing, came back in to find her laughing at his dance? Was it that funny?  What was he doing, the bird dance? Hummm...what next??  Come on...tell us!!
I'm loving these!!  She must be something mighty special.  ~hugs, Nancy~
