That sad September night I knew the world had gone insane, for how else could any humans be capable of inflicting such heartbreak and pain? I cried to the willows, to the birch and the spruce. I even tried crying to a gangly, disinterested moose. On a chilly morning walk early the next week, I looked at the snow covered Denali peaks, and suddenly my heart was warmed. For I remembered all the love I saw shining from the departing souls as they waved goodbye in the aurora that September night. And though the grief and the sorrow still make me cry, the pain is somehow muted when I focus my heart on the love I felt in that Aurora of Goodbyes. |

indeed, many could feel the good-byes of those who departed this plane. . . well done. . .and wonderfully spoken. . . ------------------------------------------------------------ To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Sven, thank you. It is so hard to feel "up" without feeling somehow guilty. Each day I have to find a new way to absorb the events of Sept 11, and move forward, for the sake of my daughter, myself, as well as the future of the rest of the planet. And I wonder if I would be so strong or peaceful if my child or other loved one had been amongst the thousands. |

It is hard to believe or express. So much was cut short....but your beauty is rightly expressed. We can't let the hate tear from us the beautiful things. That is what they want. Your aurora is very soothing somehow. Thank you for sharing. Sincerely, Regina |

Thank you, Regina. We had another aurora last night, the first one we've seen since the Sept 11 aurora. It was dancing all over the sky, and this time, I read the message clearly. These souls were all waving and saying 'goodbye, we are ok, we are going to a peaceful place...you must now live for us.' |

A gentle reminder that beauty can help us to heal. I love your interpretation of the aurora as thousands of waving hands. |

Thank you, Duncan. They were waving at you, too. I waved back at them, and told them how many hearts miss them, and that we will always remember. |

Midnitesun ~ I needed to read this, and I thank you more than you will ever realize. This was needed by many. ~Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self~ Cyril Connolly |

Gosh, now I'm getting misty-eyed. Or is that mysteria-eyed? It is comforting to share these thoughts with such wonderful, passionate friends. Thank you, my special friend. |

Marge, thank you. I will never again look at the aurora borealis without remembering 9-11, but there will be 6000+ reasons that LOVE is what my eyes will see, and not terror. |
