You and your mates looked on in horror
On that unforgettable September day
Scenes of horror so unimaginable

You didn't hesitate for a moment
There was something you had to do
As you packed your bags and left Australia
The U.S.A. needed more like you

How amazed they were at your selflessness
As you joined your brothers in arms
How smitten was each and every one of them
As they succumbed to your warm Aussie charm

The scenes that you had witnessed
