Call me baby
with my socks turned down
and my feet taking giant steps
walk me into the melt

Nestle this shoulder
with your big arm's wrap
around and around until I fall
into the warm

Scoop up piles of laughter
and throw them until they fall
like colored hope
onto my frivolity

Close my eyes with your sigh
heavy with love
then trace with a finger
the lace of my embrace

Call me baby
rock me with your words
tender this hard grasp
until grace binds us

This is absolutely wonderful Martie. The flow, the sentiments .. the adorable way you've wrapped the words so lovingly together ... felt like I just had a warm hug myself just reading this sweet piece. Beautiful!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Martie,
You lace words where I feel words should not be, yet they fit. And in the pattern there is a subtle wit. Like snow in a hard blow
But in the quiet of the morning is pure beauty. *L*

Martie,
I like your poem alot. Enticing thoughts.

then trace with a finger
the lace of my embrace

Nice line, I used a variation of that thought in my poem "I Traced You Last Night".
