wornways,
this will be a senryu because it deals with a subject matter other than nature..

only 5-7-5 syllabled-lines dealing with nature are called haiku...

but this gave me a smile..as a fellow haiku wannabe, this expressed my sentiments totally...

i'm afraid i don't know, wornways and my dictionary doesn't give me a clue either...

i bump this up..hopefully others will read and give you an answer..

is haiku/senryu a new style??
you might want to try tanka, another form of japanese poetry that is based on 5-7-5-7-7 syllable lines..
