Though you were not part of me when I was born...
I feel as though we were born together, identical twins.
Like the twins of Gemini, two together as one.
I understand you, who you are...As though I am you.

You tell me your thoughts,   I am amazed at them.
Why?...One might ask...why am I so in awe of them?
Your answers, your thoughts are mirrored by mine.
As though I had asked and answered my own.

You feel sadness, I cry your streams of  tears.
A smile escapes your lips, I understand it always.
You lie there, longing, I hold you, comfort you.
I worry....you never have to ask what is wrong.

Seems we always have the same answers.
We laugh at the punch line together, understanding.
I pick up the phone to call, you are calling me.
I look up at the table, you do the same, we smile.

You aren’t my twin,  twins are two people...
We are one....one in the same...I love that so much.
At times....I wish we were not so in tune.
I wish we could be ourselves....individuals...
For when I am gone, you will be alone.
No longer twins....

But....I know you will understand, you always have.

thanx Denise...it can be very comical when
you are with someone that can look at you
or hear your voice, see an expression and..
understand because they know...

Gosh Irish.....Now I am tearing up...I
am sad for you...and I am sure this subject
is part of a healing process for you....

Poetry can be taken so many ways...

Mine was about two that think so much alike
they could have been twins...never coming
from the same womb....

I can see how this could affect you and
I wish you much happiness...though I too
grieve...even to this day for ones I have
lost many many years ago....Just have
to live with it....wish them well...

Ahhh Magnus, your poem is beautiful and heartfelt....I too am a twin, my twin sister was still born though. I missed out in sharing as you do with your twin. She isnt here physically but I do know she is with me spiritually.

*sigh* to share the deepest feelings and understand the darkest place within us....Twins in heart and soul...what could be more perfect than to be so close. Absolutely beautiful. Your heart expresses itself very well in words that gently touch our hearts. I love this magnificent poem. It is a keeper for sure.

There needs to be many more men like you in this world, my friend.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
