Poet’s Choice a poet for your taking through leaves I’ve gone a’raking upon my early awaking this poet, for your taking a skip through leaves I wandered looking for souls, I floundered as in your past I sauntered skipping leaves, having wondered weighing now those yesterdays holding that which was saved won’t join me in my lowly grave weighty now, those yesterdays this poet, for your taking skipping leaves, having wondered weighty now, those yesterdays this poet, of God’s making |
