Sirens scream “Emergency”
The streets clear
As all the suspected flee
To hide in the dark places,
They are near,
You just can’t see the faces.

Blue uniforms search for them,
Suspected,
Hiding in homes now fallen
From neglect and poverty,
Detected,
There is nowhere left to be.

Drug out and being drug down,
Now hopeless
Laying spread out on the ground,
Giving in to petty thief,
Remorseless,
There’s for them no future left.

Caught in strobe of the blue light,
Now taken,
To be facing judgement’s sight
That is blind to the hopeless,
Forsaken,
And retched of the darkness.
