Her soul like crystal snowflakes
broken easily amid the dust
shattered from the pleadings
‘You must! You must!’

She only wants to dissolve like ice
wants to just to melt away
but icy breath of haunting lovers
entreat her yet to stay

Trampling her gentle heart
devouring her life’s source
all the while, lovers claim
‘I love only you, of course!’

When her spirit is sapped
pPicked dry and left to die
Lovers will ne’er look back
nNor do they hear her sigh

A melting tear of crystal
lLies now beside her cheek
Would life have been better
if she were not so meek.

*sigh* my heart was touched by this poem. I know these feelings so well. Now I keep my heart locked tightly away and only let it free to express love though my poetry. A magnificent and emotion filled poem.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

We all want it to be "perfect" (for lack of better word ATT) - great write and I have to ask - did she enjoy what she had while she had it, meek or not?  Sadly many reach the top of the ladder to find it really does have an end - and want it to end more gently - I think whether it does or not depends on us and what we're willing to accept enroute.

Thank you all...I'm thinking of starting a group for women who are too reticent to take that first step towards someone they care about...if the meek inherit the earth, I'd like MY inheritance NOW please!!

Oooh, this one has a spooky sort of quality to it.  I like it though.  Nicely done, Sharon.

yes..I ditto Kit...perfect phrasing and analogies...wrapped in rhyme-devine
an aching write of what far too many know..
and very cool about starting that group Sharon.   Good luck on that venture.

Oh, I know about writer's block, but listen, it's a wonderful feeling when the words begin pouring out of you again, and you know they are words that were just "birthing"
so enjoy the feeling!

You know I read your comment after my brain had its thoughts for a comment, but isn't it so true, that that saying is so "not true".  The meek when it comes to relationships suffer in heart, mind and soul.  Sometimes you just have to say, "dang it, and go get it!"  May I give a gentle push?  This was so familiar and soooo good!

Awesome write. And may the meek speak out for what they seek.
And as a sweet friend once wrote, all that you are seeking is also seeking you. (Thanks Jaime Fradera, hope I quoted you correctly)
