Softly silent scraping sounds leaves against window’s glass Child’s terror in the night breathless prayers that it will pass Harsh whispers in the dark cutting like a jagged knife opening wounds that won’t heal between husband and wife Sleeping child pulled awake covers held tightly to her chin Whispers become shouts now the fighting can begin Silent witness to the pain of a marriage torn asunder Words like vicious storms cascade verbal lightening, spoken thunder |

Oh my ... very well composed Sharon ... this one hit hard with me. I've watched my sister and nephews go through this cycle, and it just tears my heart out knowing the lasting effects with the children ... sigh ... very well written. ![]() Best wishes, /Kit |

I am a female ya know.. hehe... I enjoyed this one.. very much.. you said so much in your words. We forget sometimes how the children are affected. |
