Driving rain pounds the rocky mountain trail, Dryness sought under crags to no avail, Trudging on till even the soul is wet, Solitary onward no one is met. The trail continues on before and back. Following footsteps that he can not see, Struggles toward a singular and gnarled tree, Momentary flashes gives a stark view, Where the trail divides giving choice of two, The trail continues on left right and back. Choices to be made beneath stormy sky, Without signposts or a reason to why, Leans into wind and numbed by chilling rain, Once gone these step not to pass there again. Gloom |
