Lucie’s fantasy
the one she doesn’t publish
I will bring to light

she is a prodder
it comes from her cowpoke days
she is a cowgirl
~*~
she will not ride drag
either flank or in the lead
she controls critters
~*~
she does it so well
pen like a bullwhip lashing
used with smile and style
~*~
we met on round up
roping and branding mav’ricks
we worked until dark
~*~
ate beans and hardtack
and strolled the estacado
the moon was so bright
~*~
close enough to touch
glowing softly on the range
highlighting her hair
~*~
we started to kiss
she removed her redman chaw
spit and wiped her mouth
~*~
I lost my desire
Never could stand tobacco
We walked back to camp

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
