First off, I would like to apologize for not getting to respond to many poems as I would like. I haven't lately been on thia site long enough to do too much. I am really slow and with my health right now it takes me so long to write. My arms esp. my left one, doesn;t work well with me sometimes. But, please understand that I will get to everbody again and to the new members as well. Thank yiou.

Like No One Has

It's ok that the rain took me by surprise yesterday
For, even under it's power it's strength left room for me to feel
It's amazing the way it hung so strongly just over me
But, it found me paving that path to a kinder place I knew was real...

I know we all have our own rain and have to search for ways to keep dry
And, if you find comfort in any physical method then it's certainly all yours
Even if you find that comfort to be in the presence of things unseen
Such as the whisper of faith that keeps you fighting for...

I go to the neon moon when life seems to take me to my knees
I even find myself dancing on the tip of the brightest star
And, at times where the hillside and then the sky surely meet
Finds my inner self to never wander way too far...

Like no one has is the way the warm winds call my name
You wouldn't believe how I relate to the softness in it all
And, I've seen times where the waters of solitude ran along my feet
But, yet, it kept me standing without a doubt I would once again fall...

Very few see more than what nature is able to leave us with
They just walk on taking for granted the seasons will always be here
But, in me I value every pastel bloom that I'm lucky enough to find
And, take in it's magical peace and I keep it near...

Yet, you don't have to see just to feel for it's just in the air
And, if you're open enough you will find grace lies everywhere
And, don't you know the river speaks of continuance but in such a wonderful way?
And, I treasure it's ability to move on without end no matter the day...

Like no one has are the morning birds that I used to think sang for everyone but me
But, their melody is able to capture the best part of me
If only I could give back what nature gives before these eyes
I'd show more appreciation to the little things that set me free...

Yesterday I found myself in a place I never knew I'd ever be
And, without fear you found a way to forever leave your mark on earth with me
Like no one ever has you allowed me to feel what I never have
But, you didn't realize your heart gave me something I just never had...

You can just go on with the voice of security I am fortunate enough to hear
And, you can continue to throw away this heartbreaking fear
For like no one ever has ever found me willing to hold a strangers hand
But, it gave me courage to know not all pain comes from every man...

Continue to smile at me like no one ever has, my eternal sun
And, I can promise you that if anyone touches you I will be the one
Cause straight to your heart I will find the road that helps you breathe
And, may I return something, just anything, to you from me...

Like no one ever has is the way that I hold no fear in there with you
So, find it in yourself to love me, just a little, like I never knew
And, let me go on my way with how you touched me tenderly this way
And, hope that I will walk on in more moments like yesterday...

I'm not afraid of your gentle voice or the way you reach out to touch
I don't think there's ever been a feeling I loved this much
Like no one has let me know what it's like to feel such warmth inside
So, that I can begin to wipe the tears that's been falling for years from these eyes...

And, will you take away the pain I hold at last
And, find just some simple way to love me back?
For in it's physical sense and to your heart and all the way through
Let me be loving enough to touch you, too...

Saunni
How very true that we take things like nature for granted without appreciating it's priceless beauty.  You have captured that beauty within the lovely words you have weaved.  I'm so sorry to hear you're not well and I wish you nothing but happiness.
Take care.......Sue

Sauni, this is totally awesome. And don't worry about not answering everyone, one at a time. We understand, and it is just fantastic to see you posting. And this one? This is a keeper for my favorites, and reveals the depth of your precious heart, mind and soul. It' a humbling poem, to say the very least.
