Whisper now, September winds, and wash this heart with love. Let the pleasant shivers, stain a path into my soul. Tug at my jacketed arms and pull me towards winter, away from summer's kiss and spring's faint memory. Drape my sleeves in your insistent embrace of a calm cold. Let the heartbreaking summer fade enough to ammend my senses to your smile. Bring your colored leaves floating down around my head in technicolor snows of nature's swirlings and take them to the ground where I may cross atop them, with slow treading feet, and savor softly the new sounds. Let me hear the last breath of a summer's cricket chirp in momentary harmony with the lap of the crisp breeze. Set the world on fire with your galavanting waves of color, and I'll watch them throw themselves As they consume every living thing. Bathe in the resplendent suffusion of a September morning. Allow me to lose myself in the richness of steaming chocolate, warm milk, and swirl my soul within that steam, as I swallow sweet little sips of thought. Then let me remember how to be thankful, for the new things that come with every change. |

Lovely workin with you again as well, Jenn! Love "stain a path into my soul" , "set the world on fire with your galavanting waves of color" , and of course, "swallow sweet little sips of thought"! Excellent job, me girl! Oh, yeah, ummm, Doreen....I stole a word from you. I just had to use technicolor. I had no choice. *Grins* Thanks to everyone else for reading! |

I've had to read this at least three times. . . I wasn't sure about some of the lines. . .but, having read it again. . . I find that there's a lot of depth here. . . the words flow like the leaves of a September day. . . great job. . . by both of you. . . ![]() -------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
