--- Heaven's Treat ---

If you gazed upon a pastry,
That looked like Heaven's treat,
If you were very certain,
That pastry would be sweet.

If you raised this pastry
To your eager, lusting lips
And took but a single bite
That made you turn quite sick.

Would you taste this pastry
Upon the second sight
Would you raise it to your lips
And take another bite?

If you bit a second time
And fell gravely ill again
Would you keep on tasting?
Like you do with men.

No one ever listened themselves into trouble.

Oh my gosh does this poem ever get me thinking. Actually, I am trying to cut back.   Very powerful. A masterpiece.

The alternative diet
t'is a life of quiet
and though we'd deny it
some like life a riot.

Enchantress, amigo and Startime ...

Thanks for the compliment, That poem came to me in a rush. Peculiar how that happens sometimes.

Lone Wolf ...
EXACTLY the response I had hoped for.

Midnitesun & The Lady of Shallot ...
May life stay wonderful for you. I wouldn't wish life on this side of my little work on anyone.

RSWells ...

If it's the riot you seek
We here wish you well.
But come not to us crying
When they put ye through hell.

:^)
